Welcome to From Serving To Servers! I’m Pat, and I’m thrilled to have you join me on this adventure.

My story begins in the bustling world of restaurants, where I’ve been immersed since 2007. Coming from a family where restaurant work is almost a tradition, I’ve always been familiar with the fast-paced environment and the camaraderie it fosters. But my path took a turn when my parents, both restaurant veterans themselves, envisioned a brighter future for their children through college education.

As a first-generation college graduate, I found myself navigating uncharted waters. Unsure of my direction, I followed my strengths in Math and Sciences, eventually earning a degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from a small liberal arts college. Despite the archaic methods of my Computer Science program, I persevered, driven by a desire to bridge the gap between my restaurant roots and the flourishing world of technology.

After college, I dipped my toes into the tech industry through sales at a startup, hoping to pivot into engineering. However, as the company lacked a defined route from sales to engineering, and I was unsure of the timeline to create one, I eventually pursued two sales promotions there. But I didn’t abandon my dream. After a sales career that led me to selling less technical products, I returned to the familiar routine of restaurant life while embarking on a self-guided journey, devouring programming languages from Python to React, fueled by a relentless passion for growth and innovation.

From coding to crafting cocktails, I’ve embraced every opportunity to expand my horizons. Whether strumming chords on my guitar, tinkering under the hood of a car, or marveling at the wonders of 3D printing, I thrive on the thrill of self-discovery.
